Keystone Wildlife Research Ltd. is currently accepting applications for the position of Field Technician for the summer 2008 field season. Applicants should be physically fit, comfortable working in remote locations for 7-10 days at a time, foot traversing difficult terrain in all weather conditions, and should possess appropriate field clothing and gear. Duties will include bird surveys, amphibian surveys, raptor surveys, and habitat map truthing. Familiarity with BC wildlife (bird identification in particular) and plants, map navigation, operation of GPS, compass and clinometer, First Aid certification and provincial BEC classification system are assets.

We are currently looking for a botanist to join our team at Keystone.

Ideal candidates should be experienced in designing and carrying out a number of vegetation specific studies - most notably rare plant and rare ecological community surveys. Knowledge of plants throughout BC, provincial ecosystem classification, and ecological community relationships is a definite asset.

Botanist responsibilities will include: working with other members of our team to organize and manage field projects, conducting field surveys, and writing reports. Ideal candidates should know when plants should be collected, how they should be collected, and what information should be documented during field studies.

Applicants should be self-motivated and work well in a team environment. A M.Sc. is preferred, but not required.

Pay will be based on experience.
