Use of elk capture, telemetry, night counts and aerial surveys to assess the impact of elk on agricultural crops in the East Kootenays. Contracted jointly by the East Kootenay Trench Agriculture Wildlife Committee & the B.C. Ministry of Environment, we determined the timing, distribution and extent of crop use by elk, and we recommended changes to range and crop management to decrease the impact of elk on crops.
Documentation, for Simon Fraser University, of plant species present on 10 sites that were proposed as ecological reserves in the Okanagan. The Provincial Government subsequently protected three of the sites that had unique or rare plant communities.
